About The Casually Crafting Design Team & The Our Blog Hops
The Casually Crafting Design Team is a group of Stampin’ Up! demonstrators from around the world, gathered together to share our passion for creativity with you. Our focus is to bring you inspiration featuring projects that are easy to create while still packing a powerful creative punch. The projects are made with a few products, making them ideally suited to a beginner or casual crafter. From time-to-time, we may also include a project that is stepped-up using additional Die Cuts, Embossing Folders or using more advanced card making techniques to show you that added wow-factor and what you can achieve with some practice.
Join us on the 3rd Saturday of each month to hop around and gather loads of inspiration for your projects. If you would like to see a specific product (or products), theme, or other crafty challenges, please share your input with me at krista@thestampingnook.com and I will share your feedback with the team.
The Challenge
This month the Casually Crafting Design Team created projects for a color challenge using Basic Black, Basic Gray and Basic White. I created a sympathy card with the Color & Contour stamp set.

Now, let's dig into the fun -- grab a beverage, sit back, and check out my project. Then, enjoy the rest of the hop!

Cardstock Measurements (Imperial)
Card Base: Basic Black measuring 5 1/2" x 8 1/2" scored at 4 1/4"
Layer #1: Basic Gray measuring 5 1/4" x 4"
Layer #2: Basic White measuring 4 1/2" x 3 1/4"
Layer #3 - Inside: Basic White measuring 5 1/4" x 4"
Step-by-Step Instructions
Prepare Your Cardstock: cut/trim/score/burnish all cardstock as described above
Stamp the ink splatter image in Memento Tuxedo Black ink on Layer #1 Basic Gray cardstock, covering all edges of the cardstock (ensure the splatter covers at least 1/2" from the all edges of the cardstock)
Stamp the stem of flowers about 1 1/4" in from the left edge of the Basic White cardstock in Basic Gray ink; tilt and stamp on an angle from the bottom left (again, at 1 1/4" from the left edge), towards the right at the top of the stamp
Mask your sentiment stamp, "Here For You Now" by covering the word "now" with low tack tape, ink the stamp in Basic Gray, remove the tape and stamp the sentiment on the Basic White cardstock layer (see image below to see how I masked the stamp)
On Layer #3, the Basic White cardstock for the inside of the card, stamp the leaf stamp on the bottom left corner and the bottom right corner, in either Basic Gray ink or Memento Tuxedo Black ink
Adhere Layer #1, Basic Gray, to the front of the Basic Black card base
Adhere Layer #2 -- your stamped layer -- to the top of the card base
Adhere Layer #3, Basic White, to the inside of the card
Embellish the front of the card with Black Matte Dots and Opal Rounds
