Stampin' Up! Beautiful Autumn With a Grateful Heart CAS Card

A clean and simple (CAS) card tends to be relatively easy to make, especially for mass producing a batch of cards. The objective of a CAS card is just as the name reflects – it is clean (has one main focal point) and of course, simple to make. The focus is on that one main focal point, not the tools, techniques, or embellishments. But don’t let the classification mislead you – CAS cards can be beautiful, elegant, and still make a powerful statement. My goal for this project was to create a CAS card using the beautiful Gilded Autumn Designer Series Paper – the sheets of paper in this collection are so lovely! To create the main focal point, I used the Beautiful Autumn Stamp Set and coordinating Autumn Punch Pack.

  • Stamp Set(s): Beautiful Autumn, Banner Year

  • Punches: Banners Pick A Punch, Autumn Punch Pack

  • Cardstock: Early Espresso, Whisper White

  • Ink Pads: Early Espresso and Memento Tuxedo Black; see Coloring Options & Tools below

  • Designer Series Paper (DSP): Gilded Autumn

  • Embellishments: Basket Weave & Metallic Ribbon Combo Pack (Copper Grosgrain Ribbon), Elegant Faceted Gems

  • Optional: Stampin’ Up! Watercolor Pencils & Blender Pen, Stampin’ Blends Markers, Ink Blending Tool (Sponge, brayer, dauber, etc.) (see coloring options below)

  • Option 1 – Watercolor Painting / Coloring: Stampin’ Up! Watercolor Pencils and Blender Pen

  • Option 2 – Alcohol Ink Coloring: Stampin’ Blends alcohol ink markers and Memento Tuxedo Black ink pad

  • Option 3 – Ink Blending: For a truly custom color combination to the leaves, use various inks to create an ink blended background on which you will stamp the images and then punch out.

  • Pumpkin Pie

  • Cajun Craze

  • Cinnamon Cider

  • Merry Merlot

Option 1 – Watercolor Painting / Coloring:

  1. Stamp several (~2) of each leaf from the Beautiful Autumn Stamp Set using Memento Tuxedo Black Ink

  2. Use the colors of your choice (suggested colors listed above) to color each leaf; use the blender pen to drag the color throughout the stamped image

Option 2 – Alcohol Ink Coloring:

  2. Use the Stampin’ Blends alcohol ink markers in various colors of your choice (suggested colors listed above) to color each leaf

  2. Stamp several (~2) of each leaf from the Beautiful Autumn Stamp Set sing Memento Tuxedo Black Ink in various sections of your ink blended paper

Using the two leaf punches from the Autumn Punch Pack

  1. Stamp the sentiment from Banner Year Stamp Set set on Whisper White cardstock, approximately 5/8” from the right edge

  2. Slide the cardstock into the coordinating punch slot (the side of the cardstock with the greeting is slid into the slot) and punch

  1. Adhere the first top panel to the card base 1/8” from the top and 1/8” from the left

  2. Adhere the next two top panels next to the first, spaced 1/8” apart

  3. Adhere the sentiment banner 1/8” below the top panels

  4. Adhere the bottom DSP panels 1/8” below the sentiment banner

  5. Adhere the punched leaves into a cluster on the left side of the banner label. Suggested: use glue dots to create subtle dimension between the leaves

  6. Tie the Copper Grosgrain Ribbon in a bow and adhere on top of the cluster of leaves with a glue dot or adhesive of your choice

  7. Add three Petal Pink gems from the Elegant Faceted Gems pack

  8. Optional: Stamp two leaves on the bottom left and two leaves on the bottom right on a 4 ¼” x 5 ½” panel of Whisper White cardstock and adhere to the inside of your card
